English is the default. Your choice applies to all games and lessons.
Fixed points. Changing connections.
Only drawn tile sides connect stones. A flip uses your whole turn.
The complete game, including later moves and the current review position. Repetition history is rebuilt by validating every action.
Your game stays at the current move. Both the complete tile pattern and all stones count for repetition.
Black starts on 61 empty points. Place a stone, flip three tiles around an empty interior center, or pass. A flip exchanges three spokes for the other three; all points, stones, perimeter edges and outside connections stay fixed.
Groups share distinct empty liberties along current tile sides. Remove all opposing groups with no liberties simultaneously; then reject the action if any of your groups has no liberty. Captures earn no separate points.
A non-pass action cannot repeat an earlier complete tile pattern and stone placement. Passes retain history. Two consecutive passes finish immediately: count actual stones and empty regions adjoining only that color. Boundary contact does not make territory neutral. There is no presumed-dead removal or same-game resumption.
Higher area wins; equal area draws. Resignation loses. Zero komi is provisional. Two ordinary-looking eyes can open through flips; the current picture alone does not establish safety.
Stones occupy the fixed dots, including boundary dots. Tile diagonals are not connections. In Place mode, choose an empty point to play; select a stone to inspect its group and liberties. In Flip mode, choose a ringed center to preview its changed spokes, then choose Play flip. Crossed centers are forbidden this turn; select one for the reason.
Arrow keys move spatially through the fixed points, including across missing edges; navigation is not a connection rule. Enter or Space selects the focused point. Home and End focus the first and last point. With focus on the board or flip preview, Escape clears selection. In the open Menu, Escape closes it and returns focus to its heading. Ctrl/Command Z reviews the previous position; Shift adds redo.
History controls review without erasing moves. Playing from an earlier position asks before replacing the continuation. Save game always exports the full line and viewed position. Tutorial boards are separate from this game.
Autosaves coordinate open tabs. If a save conflict occurs, export your work before reloading. Unreadable autosaves remain downloadable. Without storage or Web Locks, use JSON exports. Records are limited to 4,096 actions and imports to 2 MiB; the record limit is an operational limit, not a scored ending.
