The rules to keep together
- One turn
- Place one stone, flip one eligible empty center, or pass. A flip uses the whole turn.
- Connections
- Only drawn tile sides connect points. The boundary is fixed and there is no wrapping.
- Capture
- Remove all opposing groups without liberties, then reject the action if any group of the mover has no liberties.
- Repetition
- Compare the entire tile pattern and all stones after captures with every earlier position. Passes retain history.
- Finish
- Two consecutive passes end play. Count stones and exclusively bordered empty components on the actual board. No automatic dead-stone removal or same-game resumption.
Zero komi is provisional. Playing pairs with colors swapped equalizes assignment of the first move; it does not establish equal winning chances or a fair komi.
Select a stone to inspect its group and distinct liberties. Use the board’s arrow keys to move focus, then Enter or Space to select. The replay slider and turn buttons show every action, including setup moves.
